The Painted Hours

the measured day

The hours as they feel - celestial and terrestrial

The Hours are made of light and shadow, their length determined by season and latitude. Still Vigil is a silence that holds itself close to the heart of any sanctuary. Blaw Light drifts softly over hedges, carrying stories that waited all night to be told. Dawn Sang whispers though the sparkling dew as the world wakes. Auric swells gently, spilling gold onto leaf and spire. Midday Lumen is pale and watchful in its brightness. Amber Leaf gathers the last warm rays, a slow ember that sinks groundward before becoming a Duskengate full of magic and belated promises. Blaw Tide casts its spell of sleepiness and then turns to Night Mantle where everything restores itself under a canopy of stars.

Light meets land, air and creature with the same care. It carries stories , memories and magic. Some hours are quiet, others hum - the real and the imaginal share space here;
